Eat This, Not That: Orthodontists Buy Back Candy from Patients

Challenge:  Orthodontists around the country have started individual Candy Buy Back Programs.  The AAO wanted to create a National platform for Candy Buy Backs.

Solution:  Create a turnkey Candy Buy Back campaign that allows all AAO Member Orthodontists access to media communications and information to host a Candy Buy Back program locally.  Created all campaign pieces including posters, coloring sheets, donation cards, customizable stickers for Trick-or-Treat bags, activity sheets, handouts, recipes, social media posts, letters to the editor, contest ideas, press releases, proclamation for Mayor/Governor and radio public service announcements.

Results:  AAO spokespeople were able to talk about treats to avoid and the popular Candy Buy Back Program where patients of some AAO members can swap their Halloween candy for a reward.  The campaign garnered TV, radio and newspaper hits across the country. Confirmed broadcasts totaled over 1,300 with a total of over 4.8 million impressions.
